Exclusive Michigan Dealer Reclaimed Hardwood Wide Plank
Olde Wood Reclaimed and Wide Plank Flooring
A reclaimed floor is a journey through time. From the original 19th-century builders who first hewed these timbers to the deconstruction crews who carefully dismantled the heritage structures, this wood passes through the hands of many artisans before it reaches ours. At 1 Wood Floors, we act as the final curators bringing that literal history directly into your home with a look and feel no modern machine can replicate.

🏆 2017 NWFA Wood Floor of the Year Best Restoration Makeover
Award winning
reclaimed wood.
Installed by 1 Wood Floors. Recognized nationally.
Our founder Edmond Malaski won the national NWFA Wood Floor of the Year award for a reclaimed barnwood floor with a Rubio Monocoat finish. That national recognition ignited a search for a manufacturer who could match his standards and led directly to our exclusive partnership with Olde Wood.
Exclusive Regional Partnership
A decade of trust A shared obsession with the soul of the wood
In the early years of 1 Wood Floors, our founder Edmond Malaski made history as the first person to win a National Wood Flooring Association Award for Best Restoration using reclaimed barn wood. That project did not use Olde Wood material, but the national victory set a standard for excellence that sent us searching for a manufacturer who could match our caliber. At the NWFA convention, we met the leadership of Olde Wood, and a partnership of exclusivity and mutual respect was born. As the exclusive dealer in the region, we now provide our clients with direct access to the finest reclaimed manufacturing in the United States.
Forensic Customization
Engineered for Your Vision
Every reclaimed project is unique. We customize the build to your architectural needs, from structural format to surface character to molecular stability.
Structural Options
Solid or Engineered
Whether your project requires the traditional weight of Solid Reclaimed Timber or the modern stability of Engineered Reclaimed Planks, we customize the build to your architectural needs
The Knot Philosophy
Character Control
We offer complete control over the natural character of your floor. We can expertly fill every knot for a smooth refined surface, or leave them raw and unfilled to preserve the rugged authentic soul of the wood
Molecular Stability
Thermo-Treated
For environments requiring maximum performance, we offer Thermo Treated products. This specialized process renders the wood molecularly stable, providing a high-tech solution for the most demanding Michigan climates
The Finishing Touch
Oil vs Waterborne The Master's Preference
While we utilize Bona Waterborne finishes for specific modern applications, our forensic preference for reclaimed products is a Hand Rubbed Oil finish. Oil penetrates the grain, blending with the wood's history rather than sitting on top of it, allowing you to feel the texture of the past under your feet.
National Champion's Note
"Winning the NWFA National Award for Best Restoration proved what I already knew: reclaimed wood demands a master's hand. That recognition is what led me to Olde Wood. I needed a manufacturer whose quality matched the standards I set on that award winning floor."

The Forensic Differentiator
Installation as an Art Form
Installing a reclaimed floor is not labor. It is art. Due to the natural irregularities, original saw marks, and random widths of aged timber, these floors require a level of visual engineering that standard crews cannot provide. Our installers are specifically trained as artists to curate every board for a furniture grade finish.
Visual Engineering
Our installers are trained as artists to blend color variances, hide structural highs and lows, and curate the placement of every board for a furniture grade finish.
Structural Mastery
Natural irregularities, original saw marks, and random widths of aged timber require a level of subfloor preparation and layout precision that standard crews cannot provide.
Material Curation
Every plank is hand selected for grain character, patina depth, and structural integrity. We reject boards that don't meet our standard before they ever reach your home.
