About 1 Wood Floors
The people behind your floors
1 Wood Floors is the Livonia showroom of First Class Floor Covering, Inc., and it's run by owner Ed Malaski. Ed has installed wood floors. He's sanded them, finished them, inspected them and sold them, and he spent years on the manufacturing side too. So when you walk into our Design Center, you're talking with someone who has done every part of the job.
We're also a licensed Michigan residential builder. The trades around a flooring project are ours to handle, not just the floor itself. Stop by the showroom at 33475 W 7 Mile Rd in Livonia or call (248) 325-8853.
What we do
Every part of the floor, from the subfloor up
New hardwood floor installation
Solid, engineered and wide plank, laid over a subfloor that was prepared properly first. The prep is the part you never see and always feel.
Reclaimed and barnwood flooring
Authentic reclaimed and barnwood. Boards that already lived one life before they reached your house.
Sand and finish refinishing
Dust controlled sanding and premium finishes for floors that have gone dull, gray and tired.
Staircase renovations
Treads, risers and railings rebuilt or refinished, so the staircase finally matches the floor it lands on.
Subfloor leveling
A floor is only as flat as what sits under it. We get the subfloor sound and level so the new one performs for decades.
Flooring inspections
Independent NWFA certified inspections when a floor fails, a dispute starts or a claim needs facts.
Water damage and insurance restoration
Wet subfloors and cupped boards, assessed and restored alongside you and your insurance company.
Brands we carry: Mercier, Cali, Lauzon, Indusparquet, Quick-Step, Olde Wood
